/dev/color IN MOTION brings together hundreds of Black software engineers from near and far to connect, learn, share, and support one another's growth within the tech industry.
The two-day experience consists of fireside chats and lightning talks featuring A* members and laudable industry leaders from our ally community. Plus, DCIM features a designated hack day, technical conversations, professional development sessions, community building exercises, fireside chats from tech industry giants and much more. This special package makes DCIM an experience unlike anything else in existence.
Lastly, our conference is a rare chance to celebrate all the amazing things the /dev/color community has come to represent to so many people over the last 4 years.
Be sure to save the date and stay tuned for more updates.
Our 2019 theme, “Engineering our community” speaks to the unique opportunity Black software engineers, in particular, have to architect a supportive and powerfully inclusive community that works to further their collective growth. Similarly, our theme alludes to our shared responsibility as co-creators of the the future, to reimagine, redesign and transform the tech industry in ways that accommodate and empower more people.
As our Executive Director, Lajuanda Asemota states, “It’s imperative that people of color emerge as key stakeholders in these imaginative processes to ensure we are creating a world that works for everyone. This conviction anchors /dev/color’s commitment to Black software engineers and drives our expansion efforts.”
